Nature Study Purchase Page

Inspire curiosity with card games, activities, fact cards, and nature journals as you venture outside with this immersive nature study designed for families who love the outdoors drawing inspiration from Charlotte Mason, Montessori, and Unit Study methods.

As of right now I am taking orders through my Etsy store at Etsy.com/shop/NatureStudyCards Or if you know what you'd like to order (or would like to inquire about a custom order) contact me at Kavanilla@yahoo.com with your zip code for shipping costs and Paypal address so I can send you a Paypal invoice.

Here are some of my current items:

 Starter Set $6

The starter set is everything you will need for one person to get the most out of any of the sets or units you order. It includes a nature journal which is at the heart of the nature study, category cards with suggestions on how to get the best use out of each of the activities/ fact cards and game instructions for the game cards included in each kit. Please specify which level of journal you would like or I will send medium as the default.

If you have multiple kids you are ordering the set for I would recommend ordering just one starter set, then an additional journal for each kid. These journals can be used for multiple sets. The activity materials included in a set or unit are enough for 1-2 kids so I would also recommend ordering extra activity materials for every 1-2 additional kids you have using the set as well.

Bird Unit $30

Learn about birds of the pacific northwest in this immersive set. The fact cards lay a foundation with interesting facts about each bird. The game/ 3 part cards cards help you learn their names, remember their characteristics, and identify them by name and image. Activities give you perspective as you see what a bird needs to build a nest, explore different shades of eggs, uncover what an owl eats, feed birds at a local pond, discover just how big the wingspans can get, and make a fun bird themed treat as you head out for bird watching with your nature journaling and fact cards in tow for identification. As you fill in your sketches and notes from your outing enjoy some avian poetry or the Native Alaskan traditional story of how Raven gave the world light. Life Cycle and Food Chain card stock coins and arrows make for a great quiet and independent study of how these systems work. The science cards then give an introduction to bird anatomy, feathers, beaks, feet, and migration. Then add a "Bird" pin to your backpack to celebrate what you've learned!

The Bird Unit is made up of Bird Set #1 and Bird Set #2. It has:

12 fact cards
7 activities on 5 cards
5 science sides to cards
1 poetry side
1 Native Folklore side
1 Nature Journaling side
48 Game cards (2 full and 2 split of each bird)
Materials to help complete 5 of the activities
Life Cycle Coins and arrows
Food Chain Coins and arrows

Thank you for taking a look!
